Hello, faithful readers. I’m changing things up a bit for June.

My childhood friend, Eva Marie Everson, has a new novel out—Miss Beth Bettencourt.

Eva is responsible for my pursuing these writing endeavors you get to enjoy monthly. Her mother and my father were friends in high school. Whenever Eva and her family came over to our town to see relatives, they made it a custom to stop and visit us. As we grew older, the visits were fewer as we were busy with school, family, etc. Many years later, my mom and dad ran into Eva at a funeral service. Catching up, she told them she was a multi-award-winning author and speaker. Mom responded with Deanna has always enjoyed writing.” Eva then told them about Word Weavers International, a global peer critique group, where she is CEO. After a phone call, I decided to join Word Weavers International. Talking about meeting your people—it’s a feeling that is hard to describe. Even though many are writing in a different genre, the labor and joy of the craft are understood by all.

I’ve enjoyed reading Eva’s books and felt compelled to write a review to encourage others to enjoy her talent.

Don’t spill your sweet tea when the plot twists, with hidden secrets revealed throughout the book, has you wondering about the untold stories in your life and how certain outcomes are affected by many variants.
